Levit's character Tom falls for a girl name Summer played by Zoey. Hence the name 500 days of Summer, the length of time the two dated from start to finish. The movie is told by flashback and real time. Back and forth although not like a Tarantino film. This movie was great and I recommend it to everyone who need a little romantic comedy but doesn't want that chick flickish shit that Hollywood has the need to dump on us. This was unlike other films as it was an original thought and not one based on a previous work or film. Give it a chance. If you have a few bucks its worth it.....

Law Abiding Citizen

Well yesterday I did the old go to the movies by yourself game. Not that I couldn't get anybody to go but I never asked anyone, I just went. Sometimes you just gotta be alone. Actually my usual Tuesday partner in crime is busy working her ass off at her new promotion.(Miss you Elizabeth)

Anyway I've been psyched to see this movie ever since I saw the trailer a few months back. Also since I had a great experience with a certain demon movie over the weekend I figured I needed a sure-fire hit. Gerard Butler is a phenomenal actor plain and simple. I've been a huge fan of his work. Jamie Foxx did a great job as well. This movie was great from the get go. Did a basic get to know the characters and the back story and then bam right to the dinner. The plot twists and the way the people are one by one taken out, you couldn't ask for more. This movie definitely did not disappoint. Gerard played a father who's family were killed in front of him by two men who were robbing his house. Foxx plays the assistant DA of Philadelphia who makes a deal with one of the men who turns on the other. Butler doesn't understand why but it is revealed that Foxx has a huge conviction rate and he is eyeing a higher position. Long story short, the man who killed Butler's family get 1 years in prison and the guy who was the helper got the death penalty. Let that be a lesson don't do a crime with a partner as they always turn on you to save their own life.

Flash forward 10 years to the date of the execution. Something goes wrong and the man is cruely killed instead of dying peacefully. The evidence points to his partner you know the one who got the light sentence. Anyway by this time a mystery man calls the partner and he helps him evade the coming cops.

Well I can go on but that would be unfair to such a great movie. Unlike Paranormal Activity which it brought me joy in ruining, this film actually is good and worth the money spent on it.

Paranormal Activity

So this movie had a viral campaign a few weeks back urging the general public to vote for mass release. As you probably know it worked and the film was released last weekend to most theaters across the country. The movie itself looked like it would be a scary thriller of some sort based in actual reality. Unfortunatly it ended up being a Blair Witch type movie, a psuedo-reality based movie. I give this film credit the people behind have yet to let the stars of this film so a mass media tour like Blair Witch did. The movie starts by telling you it would like to thank the family of Micah Sloat and the San Diego police department, why you may ask? Well over the next hour plus we see that Micah and his girlfriend Katie are about to embark on the pising off of a demon and of course they are gonna document the whole thing. I realized going into this that this movie was crap but you can only avoid the inevitable so long. To make a long story short my girlfriend wanted to see it so I went. Call me whipped but I look at it as I dragged her to see Jennifer's Body and this was my pay back. (Jennifer's Body btw sucked)

So we see Micah and Katie and realize quickly that something is messed up at their house. Micah says that he bought the camera to document all the weird goings on in the house. So he shoots Katie doing random crap and then sets up the camera in their bedroom before they go to bed. This when the crap hits the fan so to speak. The first night we see the door move. The next day Katie has a meeting at the house with a psychic. He comes over and ask questions and like most people in their trade gives random answers and refers them to a demonologist. Micah pokes fun at the psychic and the demon thing and off to the first night after the psychic. Now there are weird noises that happen and loud thumps on the wall.

You all get the point. I could tell you most of the movies but will leave that up to you to waste your money. The gyst is eventually Katie gets possessed by the demon and kills Micah. There I ruined the movie for you. Of course if you thought the movie was real than it ruined itself by telling you at the end that the thing was a work of fiction. Did I get the creeps? Yeah they did a great job with special effects. Whoever wrote the story did a great job researching everything. From the ouji board to the burned picture to the cracked picture frame to the stalking it was well researched. I liked the part where the demon dragged her from bed and down the hallway. The shadows on the door, the footprints on the floor, the evp recordings, even finally the marks on her back from when it bit her and eventually possessed her. The most eerie thing that truely gave me the creeps was the look on her face that convinces Micah into staying at the house the last night. The stalking sequence at the end followed by the smell of the prey and the demon face into the camera were priceless as well. Was it worth the price of admission? Not if you are paying 7-10 bucks. Now if you are paying 1-5 bucks I would go see it again.

Keep in mind I hated the Blair Witch Project so it would go without saying that I would hate this. I also went into the movie thinking it would be different and to be honest at times wished something would happen and end this nightmare of a movie. But overall it wasnt that bad. It may not be up my alley, but then again I have weirs tastes in movies.

So if you were some of the people that ponied up there hard earned cash, I hope you enjoyed it. But for those looking for a good movie with things that make you jump and stuff that grosses you out wait for Saw 27 1\2 I think it comes out soon.

Movies

So for most people that know me I love movies. Not just good ones either, but most movies in general. I will be honest in saying that I have a pretty big collection of dvds (4k) and I think that I've only just started. A movie is a way to escape from life, a way to get away from problems, something to get your attention away from something. To put it blunt movies are gateways to other times and places that sometimes are better than where you are at. I'm a sucker for chick flicks and bad comedies, but I also like action films and bad dramas. Throw in the occasional thriller, horror, tv show, or hell give me an hour on youtube and thats a great way to relax.

I spend most of my waking hour doing only a few things, work, watch movies, play video games, and do a combo of all three. Odd you may say a combo but I multitask.

A little Hello...

So I've been meaning to set up a page on here for what seems like ages.
